This song is based on a Japanese art form called “Kintsugi”. The artistic concept is to repair a broken item (primarily pottery) using gold or silver dust and lacquer. The repaired “scars” make the item more valuable than it was before the break. This is a philosophy that can apply to our own lives as we can gain value from our own healing.

Lyrics

Verse1:
Seems like lately I’m in a downward spiral
A delirious fever that ain’t nothing viral
Sensation of fallin back eyes open, fallin fast
A vivid nightmare down some old deep dark shaft

Pre-Chorus:
where to now when there’s no one there to save me
(save me)

Chorus:
I’m left here
With these broken pieces, broken pieces of what used to be
Broken pieces of what used to be

Verse 2:
Today I came across letters from your secret lover
Read one after another with no time to recover
Shouldn’t pry but I was trying to find the reason why
Wish now I didn’t know what I now know about the lies

Pre-chorus:
Where to now when there's no one there to save me
(save me)

Repeat Chorus

Bridge:
It all ended in an instant a high-speed head on crash
Emotions shattered and they all scattered into a million chards of glass
Senses locked in a state of shock and everything went black

Verse 3:
Gotta pick up the fragments and piece it back together
Like Japanese pottery transformed to something better
Maybe a new place will heal the breaks and I’ll rebound
Maybe in a new town I’ll find a better lost and found

Pre-chorus 3:
I’ll reach out to find someone there to save me
(save me)

Chorus 3:
I’m left here
with these broken pieces
Broken pieces of you and me
Broken pieces you set me free
Broken pieces of what used to be
