Bio
Hey there, I would like to briefly tell my story and offer some hints about my music. I suppose that I have always felt compelled to create music (and other things), but that dream was set aside for some other dreams for many years. I grew up in the shadows of Motown and the Detroit rock scene, and since have spent most of my adult life in the land of Willie, Stevie Ray, ZZ Top & King George.
After getting my hands on my first guitar at 13, a friend and I formed a rock band and played local gigs throughout high school. One memorable such gig was a dance for our high school deaf community (I know what you're thinking) - it was really cool, they were able to dance to the vibes!
My next adventure was university in the Lone Star state. I finished with a degree plus a wife and child. That forged my new dream. My new reality included a career creating products as a design engineer. Developing products and bringing them to the market has a lot of parallels with writing and producing music. I have also had a lot of opportunities to work with people from all around the world, learn new cultures and build lasting friendships. Though my music creation went into dormancy, I stayed interested, listening and absorbing what I could.
Then, a new "fork in the road"….
A few years ago, (out of nowhere) I had a sudden health scare. Ten days after receiving scary news, I found myself recovering from surgery and counting my blessings!
Following that, I was inspired to break out my old Gibson and start writing songs. I caught the bug - more than ever! Since then, in addition to constantly writing, I setup a home recording studio, feverishly learning to mix and produce my original songs.
As you listen to my songs, you may notice these influences and experiences. I believe that there are reasons for the timing of these things in life - what do we do with these opportunities and challenges? They are all cumulative, influencing our character and contributions. I hope you truly enjoy the songs! Please share your comments!
